As I was saying...

Monday's post appears to have been remarkably prescient. A few quick observations. No, this is not Watergate v2.0. Most of the hysteria (and that's what it is) is being manufactured by the usual suspects, i.e. the Democrats and their mouthpieces in the msm. Nothing illegal was done here and if the truth is to be told bluntly, Comey was not up to the job. Further, until approximately 24hrs ago his name was an epithet among rank and file Democrats.

That said, this was politically stupid and yet further evidence that Trump is in way over his head. He has repeatedly demonstrated that he is utterly clueless about how Washington works and is ignorant of things that any graduate of an 11th grade US History/Civics class would be expected to know. That's bad enough. But where the hell is his staff? Is there no one who could explain how these things are handled? Namely you send a friend of a friend with a discreet and strictly verbal message to Comey giving them a polite tip that the President is not thrilled with their job performance and it would be best if they wrapped up their ongoing investigations as soon as practicable and consider an early retirement "for family reasons" sometime after the new year. If they don't take the hint then they can still be dismissed, but ONLY after the Russian investigation is resolved or shown to be going nowhere.

Trump is going to run it as a reality T.V. show. The D.C. crowd deserves it.
The Russia thing has been killed twelve times over. Susan Rice admitted there was surveillance. If anything illegal went down, they would have pounced. None of the D.C. crowd wanted Trump. Even the Republicans would have been happy if she could have destroyed Trump's campaign.

This firing needed to be done. DC is broken and cleaning house will not look pretty to all the Uniparty hacks.
The sickness took decades to create and the media is a big part of the problem.
Let the pearl clutching begin.

Correct. If it means he will serve only one term, he still needs to continue kicking the whole DC crowd in the teeth.

If nothing else, it has been wonderful watching the Democrats tie themselves into knots of hypocrisy. Besides, where does an independent prosecutor come from? Mars? Cuba?

An independent prosecutor comes from outside the Federal Government and is given a budget over which they have broad discretion. Traditionally they have extensive legal experience and are a member of the opposition party so as to remove any suggestion that they might be influenced by the administration they are investigating. They are not required to make any reports to either Congress of the DoJ until they have completed their investigation(s). Kenneth Starr was one such example.

As I recall, Kenneth Starr cured the Democrats enthusiasm for special prosecutors for quite some time.
